My client is seeking an experienced Buyer for their successful, growing business based in Long Crendon but relocating to Haddenham in 2018. Due to the current location you will need your own transport. Key Responsibilities: Negotiating new contracts and maintaining existing contracts with suppliers to include, sourcing, pricing, and maintenance of contracts; Supporting the Procurement Manager in shaping the strategy for supplies and services to the business; Working with colleagues in developing supplier appraisal systems; Developing effective working relationships with key suppliers; Working with the Finance team to ensure that agreed terms are achieved, accounted for and a consistent approach is taken with all suppliers; Effectively communicating to ensure that goods and services are fit for purpose, cost savings are identified and changes implemented to achieve these savings; Preparing and producing all relevant documentation regarding terms and contractual obligations; Updating purchasing and commercial contact details on the relevant systems and databases; Develop and produce purchasing dashboard for monthly procurement meetings. It is essential that you have: Experience of a commercial environment; Purchasing experience, ideally from buying a variety of goods and services; Strong user of Excel - competent in Pivot Tables and V-lookups, with the ability to handle large quantities of raw data and summarise and interpret. The ideal candidate will be: A graduate or at least educated to A level standard or equivalent; Part qualified - MCIPS; A working knowledge of ERP systems, preferably SAP; Experience of supplier performance measurement and management. Working hours: Monday to Friday 8am to 5.30pm Holiday: 22 days increasing with length of service Salary 25K to 30K depending on skills and experience.
