An experienced Packaging Technologist is required for my client based in Long Crendon. You will use all your technical and hands-on food packaging knowledge related to printing processes on a day to day basis. Your role will cover primary, secondary and tertiary packaging, as well as signing off artwork and packaging specifications. You will be required to attend factory trails, print passes and liaise directly with suppliers and colleagues by phone or face to face. Key accountabilities: Understand packaging needs and requirements from internal/external stakeholders and produce a clear, commercially viable brief for suppliers or internal design team; Ownership of the packaging process ensuring continued successful implementation; Create and manage critical paths and meet deadlines; Work across multiple UK and International packaging projects at any one time; Manage artwork version control to ensure correct packaging in the marketplace; Attend press passes with confidence and good knowledge of print process; Undertake trials with suppliers to ensure packaging is fit for purpose; Work with our repro house on approval processes; Bring new ideas and innovations within packaging to the fore; Ensure excellent communication with internal and external stakeholders; Maintain company artwork and packaging files library; Ensure all packaging adheres to brand guidelines prior to sign off. The ideal candidate will have: Experience within the FMCG is essential plus a degree in a related technical discipline is also desirable; Strong knowledge of packaging forming and printing processes within FMCG; Accustomed to working in busy, entrepreneurial fast paced environments; Tenacious, agile and flexible when needed for the good of the business; Strong project management skills and attention to detail; Excellent communicator who is able to manage up and down and influence others; Self-starter with excellent sense of initiative. Working hours: Monday to Friday 8.30am to 4.30pm. 25 days holiday plus an extra birthday day. Salary: 25K to 30K depending on skills and experience.
